Lesson & Tour Sales

  • SKGABC Level 1 Guide
  • Paddle Canada Basic Sea Kayak Instructor

Susie enjoys the outdoors, especially sea kayaking. She has had the opportunities to paddle recreationally in New Zealand, Australia and various places throughout Europe. In 2015, after visiting friends in Vancouver, she decided to turn her passion for the outdoors into a professional career.   She left her job as a Financial Analyst in Germany and moved to Canada where she started studying Outdoor Recreation Management at Capilano University in North Vancouver.

Working as a sea kayak guide in the Johnston Straight and Broughton Archipelago area and being able to paddle with creature like orcas and humpback whales made her realize how fragile our environment is and that we need to protect it. Susie looks to sustainability and the zero-waste movements as she tries to leave a small footprint on Earth.

When not working, you can find Susie taking her dog Kona on new adventures either into the mountains or paddling in a kayak.  You can also find her learning about First Nation’s use of plants, knee deep in soil trying to grow veggies or coming up with new ideas on how to live more sustainable.
