Broken Group

The scenery of this area alone is enough to take your breath away. Paddle past sea caves meticulously carved by the ocean swells and look above to see storm weathered trees overhanging your paddles path. Each one with a story of a magnificent winter storm. Wildlife in the Broken Group is abundant and thriving. From air to sea you will be awe struck by the life that surrounds you. You will paddle your days through scenic bays and secluded coves and lagoons, making camp on the beautiful beaches this area of natural wonder provides.

Haida Gwaii

Perched on the edge of the Gulf of Alaska eighty miles off the coast of British Columbia (see map), the South Moresby wilderness is the most wild and remote of our kayak tours. The Queen Charlotte islands are the ancestral home of the Haida Indians who call this area Gwaii Haanas (Place of Wonder). Your sense of wonder begins with the float plane ride that carries you over these islands to the start of a week of discovery. Our kayaks give us the freedom to reach abandoned villages of the Haida people and to experience the ghostly presence of their ancient totem poles and long houses in the company of a Haida guide.

Johnstone Straight

Johnstone Strait in the northeast corner of Vancouver Island is known as one of the best places in the world for whale watching - particularly killer whales. The Robson Bight Ecological Reserve was formed to protect killer whale habitat. The abundant food supply of the area also attracts other marine mammals including humpback whales, Pacific white sided dolphins, Dall's porpoises, Stellar's Sea Lions, and much more.

Nootka Sound

Few areas provide kayakers with the cultural, natural, and historical possibilities of Nootka Sound. It was visited by Captain James Cook in 1778. Cook spent a month refitting his vessels and exploring its waters before departing. Locations throughout Nootka Sound announce the Spanish, English, and indigenous influences on its history. The indigenous peoples are believed to have inhabited this area for thousands of years before the arrival of the Europeans.

Nuchatlitz

Join us we explore Nuchatlitz and Esperanza Inlets on Canada's west coast. Here is an opportunity to view west coast inlets and beaches as they were before development and logging. Dramatic coastlines, small islets, punctuated with sea caves, arches, bluffs, and sandy beaches will highlight our paddle.
