Navigation Programs Our three part navigation series offers an introduction to the skills necessary to safely plan and navigate safely on a day or multi-day trip. These are dry land courses that introduce the chart, compass, tide & current book and marine weather forecast. We will provide basic theory behind the tides, currents and weather to give you a greater understanding of their working. To use a VHF radio you must be licensed by the Power Squadron. This tool not only allows you access to the marine weather forecast in remote coastal areas, but also is your life line to the outside world if you should find yourself in need of help.
