Level Two Skills Course Paddle Canada Level Two Ocean Kayaking Skills Level Two provides the theory and skills for proficient kayak touring in moderate sea conditions. Includes - touring, risk assessment, bracing, maneuvering strokes, combined strokes, sustained paddling, introduction to rolling and an overnight camp. Level One Sea Kayaking or equivalent skills are required for this course. Prerequisite paddling skills: Reliable bow rescue. Comfort and control while capsized in a kayak. Efficient assisted & un-assisted re-entry skills. Effective edge control for sweep and brace turns. Efficient forward paddling for sustained traveling, 6 miles at 3 knots. Strong forward stroke for moving across current, through waves and towing.
