Charts and Compasses Introduction to reading charts and using compasses We begin the Navigation Series with a close look at nautical charts; from how to choose the right chart for your trip to knowing the details that all paddlers should use for any day-trip or extended journey. We then move on to cover the fundamentals of the marine compass and its application, one of the most useful tools you can bring kayaking. We will supply the materials needed for this course.
