Basic Recreational Kayaking Paddle Canada Flatwater Kayaking Skills This course offers a simple introduction for inexperienced paddlers. It is an excellent course for those who plan to spend some afternoons exploring local coastlines with friends, or head out on a guided overnight paddle. In the Basic Recreational Kayaking program we cover the skills presented in Recreational One and Two, over one full day. In the morning you will be introduced to the gear you need to get out on the water and the strokes needed to control your boat. In the afternoon we introduce day trip planning and then move onto safely exiting your kayak. After mastering the wet exit we learn how to efficiently get back into your boat with the help of a partner. Upon successful completion of this program you will receive a Paddle Canada Flatwater Skills certification.
