ECO TIPS

Desolation Sound
Including: Redonda Island, Cortes Island, Quadra Island

"Located beyond the terminus of Highway 101, Desolation Sound greets thousands of boaters every summer with its spectacular scenery and unusually warm waters. Bordered by the coast Mountains of mainland BC to the east and the Discovery Islands to the west, Desolation Sound offers paddlers of all abilities a wilderness unscarred by the development that is so common in southern BC. It is here that paddlers gain their first taste of the North Coast."   Taken from Kayak Routes of the Pacific Northwest Coast
