Course Description:
Launching and landing a loaded sea kayak through the surf can be incredibly fun, but it can also be a real challenge! This program is designed to help you develop the ability to anticipate surf, read the surf zone, and control your kayak in the breaking waves, each of which is an essential skill for all open coastal paddlers. We start our program by learning how not to surf, and slowly build in the skills and knowledge to paddle with confidence in and around the surf zone. Surfing in Sea Kayaks requires a blend of theory, skill, and experience so we take the time to ensure you develop each of these three key aspects. We progress step by step, maximizing learning and minimizing risk. To top it off, this course is run on the beautiful sand beaches of the Esowista Penninsula, just south of Tofino.

- 2 days - $299 (does not include kayak or gear)
Prerequisites:
- Solid rolling skills are highly recommended
- Comfortable swimming 25 metres with a PFD
