Course Description:
Paddle Canada is a national body that offers certification and training in recreational sea kayaking. Level Two Sea Kayaking Skills certification is a gateway to an exciting progression of sea kayak touring in the many amazing yet challenging Canadian kayaking destinations. Gain this certification through a one weekend assessment after working through our navigation series, a rolling session, and our currents weekend.
Participation in this two day program will allow you to develop and assess your skill and theory comprehension necessary for proficient kayak touring in moderate sea conditions. Includes review and assessment of - touring skills, risk assessment, bracing, maneuvering strokes, combined strokes, sustained paddling, introduction to rolling and an overnight camp. Completion of reading and an assignment prior to the program, as well as completion of a take home exam after the program, will be required.
