Course Description:
Level Two provides the theory and skills for proficient kayak touring in moderate sea conditions. Includes - touring, risk assessment, bracing, maneuvering strokes, combined strokes, sustained paddling, introduction to rolling and an overnight camp. Level One Sea Kayaking or equivalent skills are required for this course.
Cost:
- 5 evenings (6pm - 9pm)and overnight trip - $799 with boat rental
- 5 evenings (6pm - 9pm) - $699 with own boat
- Add a 3 month kayaking season pass for only $99
- Drysuit rental (optional) - $35 per day
Prerequisites:
- Reliable bow rescue. Comfort and control while capsized in a kayak.
- Efficient assisted & un-assisted re-entry skills.
- Effective edge control for sweep and brace turns.
- Efficient forward paddling for sustained traveling, 6 miles at 3 knots.
- Strong forward stroke for moving across current, through waves and towing.
- 19 years of age
Certification:
- Paddle Canada Level Two Skills
