CLAYOQUOT SOUND

Seat Sale - Beaches and Islands - July 21-25 - $900
Home to ancient rainforests and white sand beaches, Clayoquot Sound is a gem on the rugged West Coast. Located halfway up the west coast of Vancouver Island, Clayoquot Sound encompasses 262 000 ha (647,140 a.) between Tofino and the Hesquiat Peninsula. Its 10 major river systems support the largest lowland temperate rainforests on Earth.
Clayoquot Sound is also the traditional home and enceded territory of three Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations: the Hesquiahe, Ahousaht and the Tla-o-qui-aht peoples. Clayoquot (pronounced Klak-wit) is an Anglicization of the native term tla-o-qui-aht, meaning different or changing.
